Access Starts with Alignment

Access to advanced therapies isn’t just a clinical challenge it’s a systemic one. As cell and gene therapies move from innovation to implementation, ensuring equitable access depends on more than scientific progress. Robust accreditation and reimbursement frameworks are essential to help healthcare systems adapt to these transformative treatments. Aligning payer expectations with clear standards for accreditation can streamline approval, ensure quality delivery, and reduce variability across treatment centres. However, achieving this alignment requires close collaboration between regulators, manufacturers, and payers to balance cost, capacity, and patient outcomes.

Without a coordinated framework, patients risk facing delays or disparities in access, despite clinical readiness. Ultimately, building a system that rewards quality and accountability while maintaining flexibility for novel payment models will be key to realising the full promise of advanced therapies.
