Member Spotlight: Samuel Molina, Cell-based BioConsultant
“The best way to deliver value to the patient is by working closer to them, and, ultimately with them.”
In our latest Member Spotlight, we feature Samuel Molina, a cell-based BioConsultant with a background in cell and molecular biochemistry. Samuel works closely with biotechnology companies across executive, sales, and operations teams, bringing scientific expertise and industry insight to support the development and delivery of cell and gene therapies.
What’s your affiliation with the cell & gene therapy (CGT) field?
I currently provide biological consulting services to executive, sales, and operations teams in the biotechnology industry. I am a trained cell and molecular biochemist, so cell & gene therapy is my jam. I’ve had the pleasure of both working alongside and training with fantastic (and not so fantastic) colleagues, many of whom have become more than acquaintances.
What is your role within Act for Hope, and what motivated you to get involved?
My participation in AfH is contributing to the Patient Advocacy workstream, where we wish to bring therapy-specific information and advice to patients considering a cell or gene therapy treatment option. Throughout my academic training, I believed that the best way to deliver value to the patient is by working closer to them and, ultimately, with them. AfH brings CGT experts, advocates, and patients together to forge a new way of providing valuable and informative resources to the patient community. What could be more motivating than that?
What part of this community’s mission personally resonates with you?
It’s been a real highlight of my professional career in CGT to be able to hear directly from patients about their story, their experience. To learn how ‘what we do’ affects them – from formulations to side effects to how drug information is perceived – brings meaningful ways in which we can bring more value to healthcare. I am honored to be able to work closer with patients for future patients, as well as bring advocacy to action through AfH. I’m excited to see what we can do together.
